Welcome to another update of the stein.world roadmap. As before this only shows the current plan and changes can happen at any point in time.
In this iteration there will only be highlights to what has changed to the last time. So if you want to get more details on older goals of the roadmap, please check out the previous Roadmap-Update (2024-07-25).
Goals
Minor Improvements
In the minor improvements all the done points of the previous roadmap version did get removed and we added some new bugs as well as improvements which came up since the last time.
Notable addition would be, adding some transparency to some of the attacks and also reducing the amount of visual target effects. Those two changes may make sense for bigger fights, to reduce the visual clutter which happens if a lot of attacks are going off at the same time. Goal of this would be, to make it easier to spot out enemy attacks you have to dodge or which of the attacks are actually yours. Through this it should be easier to "read" the fight and may also open up the ability to have some more complicated attacks for enemies which otherwise would be hidden behind all the player attacks.
Halloween 2024
As Halloween is coming closer, it was already time to implement the changes which are required for this years Halloween event. This includes resetting and updating all the quests, event triggers and dungeon ranking for the new year. The dungeon ranking for Samhain Island was necessary, as the dungeon itself received an update to try out a new mechanic which should prevent dungeon skips for future dungeons.
Besides that the Halloween Reward shop received some new collectibles for this year as well as some increased prices for those. There should still be enough leeway to get all the collectibles but no longer to get everything three or four times if you only play casually.
Level 40 Zone
This is probably the area where the least changes did happen since the last time. Main focus here is still finishing up all the interior maps, which Turbostar did some work for, while a lot of bugfixes did happen for the last patch from my side.
Besides that my main goal is to split the current work further up and try to make it more plannable, as the required work is to overwhelming to be able to just blindly work on it. Hopefully there will be more information on what the strategy and progress is in the next update! For example one of the considerations is also if we also should finish up the dungeon maps, before we start working on the sub goals.
Main City
There was an older idea added to the main city goal, which seemed like a nice idea back then and for sure still is. The main city should receive a museum, where you could interact with paintings or books which then should show off some of the player art, which was created over the time for the game.
Other
This category received some of bigger features we plan to add in the future, but do not have a certain timeframe yet. This is mainly to point those features out for the suggestion channel in the Discord and maybe prevent those from being suggested over and over again. Those are mainly the missing professions Alchemy, Cooking and Fishing as well as the general PvP concepts we plan to add in the future, but don't have any details about it right now.
Another addition to this category is to maybe increase the visible area in the game a bit, so it gets easier to see enemies and other things in the directions, your view is currently restricted to. But this may require some more adjustments so the immersion of the game does not break if you suddenly can see further in the other direction. This may mean that we need to hide the world in this direction. But implementing some kind of fade out for the world like this, may also be combinable with new effects like weather or a day and night cycle.
Some of the new minor improvements may be swapped over to this category in a future version, as it's not sure how big those actually would be.
